Philosophy
Studio Fuga was born from a deep desire to connect with nature through art. To physically bring out the raw essence through our hands, by creating objects that we can use and love in our everyday lives, and to bring the beauty of nature into our homes. We collect the plant ourselves, paint it and press it. There are no reproductions, digital prints or images, every work of art is unique and as natural as can be. We want everyone to be able to bring nature into their homes through what we call “”.
Our core value is respect for nature, we strive to work in a symbiosis with the plants, trim the plants to give them fresh life, and integrate a part of it in our daily lives and homes.
Nature is our temple, and we are its guests. It does not belong to us, but if we respect it, it will welcome us in and we will find peace and serenity. If you look carefully and listen, it's a never ending source of inspiration and extreme beauty, with material which can be used with environmental awareness at the core, to create pieces of natural design.
We print on natural fabrics and use non toxic inks, and focus on recycling and sustainability all through the process. And most importantly, we work with our own hands, deeply rooted and with consideration for the pace of nature and its seasons.

Art and nature go hand in hand. Art is an incredible tool that can heal, change and bring out strong emotions from deep within. We create real products, with a soul - Raw, natural, minimal and primitive.
We love to invite all people from all over the world into our physical reality – Studio Fuga. To share impulses, new ideas and perspectives, connect to each other – and together connect with nature. This is what it's all about. We are deeply rooted in our local community, and love to organize workshops open to all different kinds of people, with all different kinds of skills. What brings us together is the desire to connect with each other, and nature.

We organize several different types of workshops that are announced ahead. We do private workshops, for individuals or small groups, just reach out! We can also travel to your beautiful location, and conduct a special workshop for you or your guests on site.
The essence of the workshop will always be the same: Pick your plants, and print them on natural fabric, paper or other accessories like bags, notebooks, postcards…. You will be guided through every step of the way, with knowledge of the plants and techniques. You will bring home your unique piece of art, and a strong connection to nature.
History
Hello, I am Helena, the artist and creator behind Studio Fuga. I, 2010 I arrived in Sicily after completing a degree in political science in Barcelona, and a master of arts in England. Since my art studies I have always worked in the field, where I experimented with many different techniques like drawing, printing, welding, woodworking and painting. I met the love of my life, Pietro, in England, and when we were expecting our first baby we decided to move back to his native town in Sicily and join the family plant business. Now we both work here and are raising three beautiful children.
I must confess that it was not always easy to move from an energetic city like Barcelona, to a small town like Syracuse. Studio Fuga was born from a deep desire to find my identity as a mother and artist. “Fuga” directly translates to escape. It can be an escape from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, routines, monotony and the limits we tend to put on ourselves. Studio Fuga has become my sanctuary where I can connect to what enriches my life, and create art that comes through me like a natural force. We all need a “Fuga” sometimes – What is your fuga?
